WARHAMMER 40,000 AT THE CLUB

Most if not all Tanelorn members have at least dabbled in 40k in the past, and while there are tonnes of games played at the club, 40k is one of the consistent staples with a core of regular players meaning you can almost always get a game and be assured some variety in opponents and opposing armies.

GUILD BALL AT THE CLUB

Guild Ball is a relatively new game having been successfully launched via Kickstarter in 2014. It’s a game of crude medieval style football with plenty of violence thrown in, played between two teams of 6 players on a small 3x3 playing area. The game is quick to learn and cheap and easy to put together a team, while offering tonnes of tactical depth and replay value, so it’s global fan base is growing quickly and its popularity at Tanelorn Wargames Club is no exception.

MALIFAUX AT THE CLUB

Malifaux is a skirmish tabletop game that is played regularly at Tanelorn. You will often see games being played at a weekly club meeting. In addition the club runs events that are open to anyone to enter. In 2015 Tanelorn ran 3 Malifaux events - a Story Encounter Event, a Ranked Singles Event and a Doubles Event. All events were well received by the players (both internal and external) who attended the events.

NECROMUNDA AT THE CLUB

When I moved to London and found TWGC one of the first things I asked about was how many Necromunda players there were at the club and what appetite there was for getting a campaign going.  I had a very positive response and it was obvious that the game had a place in many of our hearts, even those that had otherwise moved on from Games Workshop systems.

HORDES/WARMACHINE AT THE CLUB

During the time of Mark 1 when Hordes was just released, there was a move from the various Warhammer Fantasy Battle players over to Privateer Press' game system, initially, tempted by the fantasy-like beasts in Hordes but later Warmachine factions started to appear at the club too.

RELIC KNIGHTS AT THE CLUB

Relic Knights is Manga/Anime sci-fi skirmish tabletop game that was originally Kickstarted back in 2012. The Kickstarter eventually delivered in 2015. This had an obvious impact as to the interest levels in the game. However, that did not stop a few of us at the club who had backed the Kickstarter giving the game a go and we liked what we played! Some of us even decided to get a second faction.

EPIC ARMAGEDDON AT THE CLUB

Epic Armageddon is a tabletop wargame set in Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe. Whereas Warhammer 40,000 involves small battles between forces of a few squads of troops and two or three vehicles, Epic features battles between armies consisting of dozens of tanks, flyers, spaceship bombardments, titans and hundreds of soldiers. Due to the comparatively larger size of the battles, Epic miniatures are smaller than those in Warhammer 40,000 using a 6mm scale as opposed to the 28mm miniatures used in Warhammer 40,000.

BLOOD BOWL AT THE CLUB

The last Tanelorn Blood Bowl league ran from March 2014 to January 2015 at our venue in East London and had 10 players arranged into two 5 team conferences. The current champion is Ed with his Chaos Dwarf "Valorless Villains", who beat yours truly in the final.
